Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 21, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and RIQN (“RIQN”, “we”, “us”) for the use of riqn.com and the RIQN math practice program (the “Service”). By creating an account, buying a license or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your family’s information.

1. Who can use RIQN

  • Parent accounts are for adults (18 or older) who are the parent or legal guardian of the children who will use the Service.
  • Children use RIQN only through a learner profile set up by their parent. Children may not create their own accounts or make purchases.
  • You are responsible for your account, for keeping your password and your children’s learning codes private, and for all activity under your account.

2. Licenses

  • One learner, one grade, one license. Each license is assigned to one learner and gives that learner access to one grade of RIQN math.
  • No sharing or transfer. A license may not be shared with another learner or transferred to another person.
  • 12 months of access. A license lasts 12 months from the date of purchase. It does not renew automatically. You may purchase another license when it ends.
  • Additional licenses. Additional licenses purchased through the same parent account may qualify for the discount shown on our Pricing page and at checkout at the time of purchase.
  • Personal use only. Licenses may not be shared, resold, or used for a classroom, school, tutoring service, or other commercial purpose unless RIQN gives written permission.

3. Grade tests

  • Each license includes 12 grade tests for its learner. Each test is a different set of questions. Used tests do not reset when a new license is bought for the same learner and grade.
  • Tests are timed. Once a test is started, the clock keeps running even if the page is closed, and the test is submitted when time runs out.
  • Children may take a new test after a waiting period, currently 7 days. A parent may allow an earlier retake from the parent account; this uses one of the learner’s 12 tests.
  • Test results are for the family’s own information. They are not official scores and are not shared with schools or testing agencies.

4. Prices and payment

  • Prices are shown in U.S. dollars on our Pricing page and at checkout, and may change from time to time. Price changes do not affect licenses you have already bought.
  • Payment is due at purchase and is processed by our payment processor. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
  • Access to a grade starts once payment is confirmed.

5. Refunds

If RIQN is not right for your family, contact us within 7 days of your purchase for a full refund, as long as no more than 1 grade test has been taken using that license.

Using RIQN practice during those 7 days does not affect your eligibility for a refund.

After 7 days, purchases are non-refundable except where required by law, or where the Service did not work as described and we could not fix the problem.

Full details are in our Refund Policy.

Refunds go back to the original payment method. When a refund is issued, access associated with that license ends.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • share a license with another learner, or share your account or learning codes with another person who is not authorized to use them;
  • copy, download, scrape, reproduce, publish or sell RIQN questions, tests, explanations or other content;
  • use automated tools, bots or scripts to access the Service or answer questions;
  • try to break, bypass or interfere with the Service’s security, access controls or test rules;
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or end access for accounts that break these rules, without refund where the breach is serious.

7. Our content

All RIQN content, including questions, tests, explanations, pictures, software and the RIQN name and logo, belongs to RIQN or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws.

A license lets the licensed learner use the content within the Service for personal learning; it does not transfer ownership of any content.

RIQN is built around grade-level Common Core State Standards.

Common Core State Standards © Copyright 2010 National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and Council of Chief State School Officers. All rights reserved.

RIQN is an independent program and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by those organizations, any state, or any testing company.

8. Learning results

RIQN is a practice tool. We work hard to make every question accurate and every report useful, but we do not guarantee any particular grade, test score or result.

If you find a mistake in a question or explanation, please tell us and we will correct it.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We aim to keep RIQN available at all times but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

We may improve, change or retire features, questions or tests over time.

We will not reduce the core features of a license you have already bought — practice for the licensed grade, grade tests and the parent report — during its 12 months.

10. Ending your account

You may stop using RIQN at any time and may ask us to delete your account and your children’s information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.

Sections 6–8 and 11–14 continue to apply after an account ends.

11. Disclaimer

Except as stated in these Terms, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, RIQN will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the license involved in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing a legal claim, please contact us so that we can try to resolve the issue informally.

Unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the appropriate state or federal courts located in Kalamazoo County, Michigan, or in small claims court where the claim qualifies.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make important changes, we will update the effective date and let parents know by email or on the site before the changes take effect.

Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
